January 5th marked a year since I opened this little corner on the internet. I never got around to posting anything because one, January 5th was the day I got back to work and two, it is somewhat of a holiday in Spain (Three Kings Eve anyone?). The following days… all hell broke loose in Paris.

Anyways, I wanted to write a thank you post. Thank you for coming across my little spot and reading it and following my thoughts and adventures. It really means a lot to me. Thank you to those who have commented with advice, insightful ideas and have cheered me on. Blogging is such a fantastic community! Writing has always been an outlet for me and I’ve loved the decision of opening up about it (I used to be timid sharing my work).

It has kind of been an amazing journey to see myself change as a writer and a person. A year ago I would never have imagined I would be sitting here, in my little studio in Paris, writing a blogiversary because I have lasted a year. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do with this blog, I just wanted a project and a creative outlet. When La Vie Est Belle started, I was sitting in front of my home computer hoping my writing could somehow impact someone. I really did not know what I wanted to say, what I wanted to write about, but I wanted my instincts to take me to what I believed needed to be said and talked about. Beginning this journey, I thought it was going to be like that new diary someone gives you that you never get to the last page of (I was scared of finishing off diaries though… what if I reached the last page and didn’t have enough space to finish up my thoughts???). Here I am though, and it looks like I will have an infinite amount of space to finish up my thoughts (sometimes I try to be funny).

  1. So proud of us for having our blogiversaries (although I think technically yours is a week before mine but WHO’S COUNTING)!! I have to say, I was skeptical that we’d both keep it up. I kinda had a feeling that at least one of us would fail, or at least only post once every two months with a “omg sorry I’m so busy” post. We’ve both really put our writing and ourselves first this year and I think we’re both stronger and wiser because of it. I can’t think of anyone I’d rather have such a successful blogging journey with ❤
